The engaging decor strikes a perfect balance between classic and modern, making it feel both relaxed and stylish. The café's intimate setting is ideal for smaller gatherings, with charming tables that beckon you to enjoy a moment over a cup of coffee or a thoughtfully crafted dish.
The menu at Café St-Barth is a delightful sampling of breakfast classics with a twist. Start your morning with their baguettes, such as the Herby Grilled Chicken or the Pesto & Brie, each priced at CA$14.75. If you're in the mood for something lighter, try one of their acclaimed avocado toasts. Options like the Smoked Lox & Avocado at CA$20.75 are not only delicious but a feast for the eyes. For cheese lovers, the Feta & Olive Oil version at CA$18.49 is a must-try.
Egg enthusiasts will relish the diverse selection of omelettes, ranging from the Classic at CA$14.99 to the flavorful Mediterranean version at CA$16.25. Both choices promise a satisfying start to anyone’s day. Visitors rave about the Egg Benedict, particularly the smoked salmon variant which delivers a perfect balance of textures and flavors, embodying a well-rounded brunch experience.
Customer feedback speaks volumes about the quality and atmosphere. Dave Virk mentions the delicious food quality, emphasizing the top-notch espresso smoothie, while Van Ngo appreciates the value of including tea or coffee with the meal. Jessa Verhoef, who was so enamored she returned twice in one weekend, described the food as "delicious" and perfect for a leisurely brunch, even if it took a tad longer to arrive.
That said, it’s worth noting that with popularity comes a bustling environment, particularly on weekends. You may find yourself waiting for a table or for service during busier hours, but as Laya Rafiee suggests, the homemade potatoes are a comforting reward for that wait.
In summary, if you’re looking for brunch in Montreal that combines great food with a delightful atmosphere, make sure to visit Café St-Barth - Breakfast. Whether you opt for their French toast or the well-reviewed waffles, you're in for a treat that celebrates the essence of breakfast in style. With every bite, you’ll find a joyful start to your day in this lovely destination.
“ I was there Wednesday May 21, 2025 for brunch with family of 4. For the price, the food was really good. I just wish it was a little bit hotter. The smoothie that had espresso in it was top notch. I liked the energy of the place. ”
“ Egg benedict is done well; I like my smoked salmon benny. Tea/coffee is included so it's worth the price. There is a wait time so be prepared for that. ”
“ I tried salmon Benedict, loved it. The home made potato was great. It is a bit hard to get the waiter/waitress attention when it’s busy. ”
“ Was in Montreal for the weekend and came here twice. Cafe is super cute, food is delicious, and service is great. Food is slightly slow to come out but we took our time anyway. Perfect hangover food. ”
“ A lovely and bright brunch cafe near McGill and the plateau. The interior is bright with a classic yet modern ambiance. The tables are small so it is better for 1-2 people rather than large groups as the restaurant is relatively small. We tried the waffles and the French toast. The latter was perfect and of sufficient portion for two. The waffle was a bit like a biscuit in texture so not sure if that was intended or something unusual in the mix. The presentation was beautiful and the service was friendly. The menu has options to satisfy a variety of vegetarian options in both savour and sweet. ”
“ I can't say enough about the incredible experience we had at this family-run gem! The breakfast was amazing! The exceptional service stood out and the staff are genuinely caring. It is clear that this business takes great pride in what they do, and it shows in every detail. This is why we continue to keep coming back. Thank you again to all the staff. From our family to yours. See you again soon. ”
“ Brunch is awesome here compared to the chain brunch places in town. The St Barth Benny has a delicious hollandaise sauce, a fluffy croissant, and some beautifully runny eggs - all accompanied with seasoned baked potatoes and a large fruit bowl. The sweet and savory is also great! The fresh (and not overly sweet) waffles are to die for. Omelette is just okay (could definitely use more cheese, portion also seems a bit small in comparison). The atmosphere and decor are also really nice, I’ll definitely be coming back for more :) ”
“ Cafe St-Barth is a quaint, bright and welcoming cafe where you are certain to enjoy your breakfast. My friend and I dined on a Sunday morning and ordered Belgian Waffles and a Veggie Omelet. The presentation and taste of our food were great. My friend loved his Belgian Waffles and I found the flavor of the Omelet to be fresh and delicious. The service was excellent. We are so glad that we found Cafe St. Barth while visiting Montreal. I recommend this Cafe for breakfast. I hope you give it a try. ”
